Stella Bonds – or Estela Bonds in honor of her heritage – is a Designer-in-Residence in the DC Fashion Foundation’s premier program, the DC Fashion Incubator. She shared her designs and celebrated Hispanic heritage at the Carlos Rosario School. The lively presentation included songs, dances, and speeches from students to commemorate their roots.

This festive day reached its climax with the “Fantasy Runway,” where Estela Bonds represented her whimsical and colorful designs. To highlight the richness of diversity in Latin American countries, models showed off bold designs representing their country of origin, whether through depictions of food, nature, history, design, or general culture. Estela commented on her designs, “We have a lot of people from Mexico, so through different designs, we represented the tequila, the chiles, the monarch butterfly.”

Telemundo in Washington, DC features Estela Bonds’ presentation. Although the video is in Spanish, viewers can enjoy the beauty and fantasy in Estela’s designs no matter what language they speak.
