On Saturday, November 24, six Designers-in-Residence of the DC Fashion Foundation and DC Fashion Incubator @ Macy’s participated in an annual tradition: Small Business Saturday.
Visitors browsed designs by Nikki Hendricks (Nikki Hendricks Designs), Shari Henry (Shari Henry Designs), Shantae “Belle” Flowers (Chante’ La Belle Epoque, LLC), Almira Wilson (Fashion House of Léonché), Khrys Kelley McQuay (Embode Healing Arts), and Mertine Moore Brown (MooreWrap). The event was an open-studio shopping experience, so that visitors could not only take home gifts for loved ones (and themselves!) but also see the space where the designers’ creations come to life.
