On May 11, former participants in the DC Fashion Incubator invited their community to celebrate a momentous occasion: An invitation from Macy’s to sell their brands in-store!
This incomparable opportunity is part of the Market @ Macy’s, a cutting-edge initiative at stores across the U.S. A selective cadre of fashion designers and other creative industry entrepreneurs will showcase their goods in Macy’s major retail destinations. Participants will not only have a sales and branding opportunity but also the chance to learn the ins-and-outs of partnering with a major department store.

Macy’s picked Amanda Casarez, Dur Doux, Ollie Quinn, and Natt Taylor to showcase their brands in the Las Vegas store. The cross-country location enables these designers to better understand and break into a market beyond their immediate community.
To celebrate, the designers gathered for a fashion photography shoot, runway presentation, and pop-up boutique at the Melrose Georgetown Hotel. Washington, D.C.-area photographers, models, and fashion enthusiasts crowded the lobby as Cynthia Burt – Vice President and Co-Designer of Dur Doux – thanked the brands’ supporters for joining this special day.
The crowd spilled out into the lobby’s side wings as supporters gathered to view the runway presentation.
Amanda Casarez brought feminine looks with a bold and traditionally masculine twist. Dur Doux brought eye-catching designs melding edgy details onto classic designs. Natt Taylor presented sharp, well-tailored, and functional womenswear. And Ollie Quinn presented a range of bags in the brand’s signature hat-box shape.
